Dear Patients,
I hope this communication finds you and your family safe, healthy, and doing well. We want to update you regarding the reopening of our practice and the return to regular operations.
As you know, Governor Baker directed all non-emergency dental care in Massachusetts to cease mid-March. As of Monday, June 8th 2020, Governor Baker announced the start of Phase 2 reopening plan, and with much awaited anticipation, non-emergent and elective dental care may resume!
The recommendations/requirements for the return to non-emergency dental care involve the following areas:
Patient Screening: Involves screening questions prior to the appointment, as well as body temperature measurements upon entering the practice facility.
Patient Flow: Involves not using the reception room, but rather checking in from the parking lot, and waiting until notified by practice personnel to enter the facility. In addition, social distancing among patients and personnel are expected as much as is reasonably possible.
Patient Barriers: All patients are required to wear a mask or cloth covering their nose and mouth upon entering and leaving the facility, and at all other times except when receiving treatment. Once in the treatment room, patients will be instructed to rinse with antiseptic liquid.
Practice Personnel Screening: Team members will have their temperatures taken at the beginning and middle of each work day. No team member who demonstrates signs or symptoms of illness will be allowed to work.
Personal Protective Equipment: All South Shore Dentistry team members will wear Surgical or N95 masks at all times in the clinic. In addition, gowns, caps, and face shields when possible will be worn in the clinic.
Environmental: While not required, we will be using air filtration measures to assist in making sure airflow within the practice is as environmentally clean as possible. This includes but is not limited to air exposed to UV lights and electrical ionization.
Dr. Burt, Dr. D. and the entire staff at South Shore Dentistry have been working hard to not only meet all of these recommendations/requirements, but exceed them. As you can imagine, the above-mentioned changes will affect nearly everything we do in the practice
Despite these changes, you can count on our practice providing you the highest level of dental care anywhere, in a clean, comfortable, and safe environment. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact the office. We remain open, as we have all along, to address emergency needs, and now we can also address non-emergency, urgent care as well.
Thank you for your patience as we pay attention to all the details to not only re-open the practice, but do it the right way.
The Team and Doctors at South Shore Dentistry
