Your First Visit To South Shore Dentistry

The first time you visit us at South Shore Dentistry, we will take the time to get to know you. We'll examine your health history and listen to any concerns you may have about receiving dental care. We'll address any urgent concerns right away, and do everything we can to ensure your comfort.

Nervous about the dentist? We provide a variety of sedation dentistry options to make your visit to our dental office calm and worry-free! We also have a friendly in-office therapy dog, who will be happy to keep you company during your visit.

We Don’t Rush Your Care

Your first appointment with one of our dentists will take approximately 2 hours. During this initial appointment, our dental staff will take digital x-rays, complete an oral cancer screening, perform a complete periodontal evaluation, check your existing dental fillings, and evaluate your bite.

After your teeth are cleaned during your hygiene appointment and your dental exam is complete, your dentist will determine whether you need any type of restorative dentistry treatment and answer questions you have about your oral health.

Your Gums: The Building Blocks Of Your Overall Health

Evidence of gum disease or gum inflammation will require our team to take a different approach. Before regular oral care, your gums need to be healthy. After all, your gums are the foundation to your entire smile! Keeping them healthy is also and important part of keeping your cardiovascular system and respiratory function healthy.

If we find you're suffering the symptoms of gum disease, our dental team will perform a complete exam, thoroughly remove stubborn plaque and tartar from your teeth using a technique called "debridement", then schedule a regular dental hygiene appointment for another day. Dr. Dadhania or Dr. Burt will discuss your treatment options with you and share our recommended course of action to get your gums healthy again.

Save Time Before You Arrive

Do you dislike spending time filling out paperwork when all you want is to see the dentist? Our new patient forms are available online so you can fill them out at your convenience at home!
